Transitioning to the workplace can be difficult and our coaches can help.

Elementary

Young students can often feel overstimulated sitting in a class with their peers, listening to teacher directions or focusing on the lesson.  Through a guided method of teaching our coaches can help determine the root of impulsive behavior and can teach strategies to redirect unwanted behaviors in the future.  A common academic challenge for students on the spectrum, ADHD and other learning differences is reading comprehension.  Our coaches can incorporate a rigorous reading comprehension strategy into each session, as well as touch on other academic challenges as needed.

Middle and High School

Adolescents transitioning into Middle and High School often find the lack of structure and newly found independence a challenge when navigating higher expectations both academically and socially.  Students often can feel overwhelmed by long term projects, have trouble initiating independent work and struggle to consistently turn in assignments.  Along with academic challenges are social and independent living skills challenges.  Waking up independently, following through with household chores or initiating and organizing a social activity with a peer can cause even more anxiety.  Through a guided approach to teaching strategies and tools for academic, social and independent success our coaches can help students learn to successfully transition into adulthood.

Young Adults and Professionals

Young adults newly graduated from high school, beginning college or in the workforce are confronted with many independent challenges.  Creating study routines, initiating communication with professors or employers and initiating and scheduling their social lives can be a struggle.  Many of these tasks involve multiple steps and problem solving capability, which can cause anxiety and frustration for those with Executive Function deficits.  Our coaches work with young adults to pinpoint areas of growth and struggle, break larger tasks down into manageable steps or create routines and procedures that can be utilized in multiple areas of life.  Incorporating structure and routine into an independent young adults life creates a more stable environment to aid in growth and maturity.
